Blu-ray player information is here to help you decide which player is best for you. Some basic players only play blu-ray and dvd disc while others will go as far a streaming movies from the internet. Blu-ray movies are the best way to enjoy movies in HD quality. The market place has spoken, and blu-ray beat out high-definition DVD. Now is the perfect time to buy a blu-ray player. Many people have been holding out; waiting for the next technology, but in my opinion blu-ray will be the best way to watch a movie for the next few years. With the price finally at an affordable level for most people, it is a great way to enjoy movies in HD.

For the past decade people have stated that streaming movies will be the way we get them. This has not materialized yet, and probably will not in the near future due to slow internet connection relative to what you need to stream a movie in high-definition quality, without buffering constantly. This is why I believe blu-ray is here to stay for a few years to come.

The picture on blu-ray is better than any other available source. With 1080p resolution, the picture is superior even to HDTV broadcast. Of course, with better picture, there is also better sound coming from the blu-ray disc.

Many people haven’t honed in on blu-ray because of the price; this has changed recently. With players now well below $200, these are finally affordable for the average movie enthusiast. These players are far superior to DVD, but they do have a DVD up-convert to make your existing DVDS near HD quality.

Edit..

$1,200 sounds a little pricey to me.. $800 – $900 is more like it.

I have a Sharp LC-70LE735U (70-inch) 3D TV. Which is (non-Sharp) 3D Blu Ray player can I get for it?

I have a Sharp LC-70LE735U 3D TV. Logically, I thought about getting a Sharp 3D Blu Ray player for compatibility reasons, however, the Sharp 3D Blu Ray players get TERRIBLE reviews and low ratings.

Does anyone know if I could (or should) consider another brand of 3D Blu Ray Player? Do all active 3D HDTV’s work with with all 3D Blu Ray players?

Also, my TV works with Full HD 3D 1080p/24 fps Blu Ray players.

Any suggestions? Thank you very much.

I forget the model number, but the latest Samsung 3D Blu-Ray player should work quite well.

well friend, no offense but that fx-4100 will not be good to pair up with your HD6950, if you’re into AMD then it would be better if you get a phenom II x 4 980BE (best AMD for gaming) because the FX 4100 practically couldn’t even beat an I3-2100 :

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-fx-pentium-apu-benchmark,3120-8.html

And since you’re Motherboard supports crossfire then I assume that you’re planning to have 2 HD6950′s in the future, if so then that 600w PSU would be a problem since what you will need is at least an 850w +80 branded PSU like this one:

CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX850M 850W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular High Performance Power Supply – $140 ($125 after rebate)

Here is Guru3D’s power supply recommendation:

Radeon HD 6950

On your average system the card requires you to have a 500 Watt power supply unit.

Radeon HD 6950 in CrossfireX

A second card requires you to add another ~160 Watts. You need a 650+ Watt power supply unit and if you use it in a high-end system a 800+ to a KiloWatt is recommended especially if you plan on any overclocking.

http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-6950-crossfirex-review/14

BTW, The HD 6950 is a great card that can let you play all games on high- max settings on 1080p

Yes. Any 3D-capable Blu-ray player should be able to play with any 2010 or newer 3D-ready or 3D-capable TV. (One exception: if you bought one of the early 3D-ready Mitsubishi DLP models in 2008-2009, you’ll need to buy a special converter box to make your set work with current 3D technology.)

Far as Blu Ray player’s these are my pics: Panasonic, LG, Samsung, Toshiba, PS3

Looking for information on a region free Blu Ray player?

I am looking to purchase a region free Blu Ray player but I have a couple of questions I would like to get the answers to first. I went into Best Buy and PC Richards and no one in either store could answer my questions. First, do the region free Blu Ray players play all regions of DVD’s as well? Second, what is a decent player to buy without spending alot of money? I’d like to keep it to as close to $100 as possible. Finally does anyone know of any stores that sell them? I live in NJ

Generally, the Blu-ray disc is divided into 3 mainly regions, A.B.C. Si you can have a check which region is your blu-ray.
A North America, Central America, South America, Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia

B Europe, Middle East, Africa, Australia, New Zealand

C Russia, India, China, Rest of World

But I’d recommend building your own. www.ebuyer.com and http://www.scan.co.uk/ and www.overclockers.co.uk are good for components.

what is a vhs to dvd converter that will allow your dvd to play on mostly all Systems?

apparently, your dvd will only play on the dvd player included in the converter.
i am considering doing it my self as i was reading yelp reviews online on vhs dvd converter people and i really wouldn’t trust them with my tapes.
i also looked up vhs to computer soft ware which might work out for me but then again it m ight not i don’t have a computer :-/ lol

Hi, if you want to transfer videos from VHS tapes onto DVD for playback on the DVD players, that’s easy, you can click below link for a step by step guide about how to convert and burn videos from VHS tapes to DVD to play well on DVD players, I followed this guide and success, hope it can help you too.

Several questions about Blu-ray players for computers.?

I have held off on getting a Blu-ray player for my computer because the earlier ones had so many issues, glitches and bad reviews that I lost interest in buying one. However, I do think that the time is right and I am ready to buy but I have a few questions for you computer media experts out there. Before I ask my questions you need to know that I do have a HD video card with a 24 inch 1080p monitor and I am using an HDMI cable between my video card and my computer monitor. I understand that that is important in getting your Blu-ray movie to play.

1. Do I really need special software to play Blu-ray disk for a computer using Windows 7? If so what do you recommend and why do I need this software?

2. Will a computer Blu-ray player work with Handbrake? Will Handbrake see my DVDs for recording as well, using the Blu-ray player?

3. In the past I have bought mostly OEM parts for my computers from newegg and amazon but from the way I have been reading reviews most people feel that in this case, getting the complete Blu-ray player in the box with the software is smarter. Your thoughts on this please???

4. Last, what computer Blu-ray player have you had the best experience with? What player do you recommend me getting and why?

Please note, I do not want one that records as that is not something I will not ever do, so playback only is fine.

One last thing, I try to be diligent in awarding 10 points to best answer. Thank you.

1. It depends on you. If you want, you can try blu-ray player software first. It is free.

4. The one is freesmith free blu-ray player. It is a free blu-ray player software for windows. Recommended it.

Reason: I have used it for one month or two, it has worked well with my blu ray discs. It reads blu ray disc smartly and it is light, costs litter space on my hard drive.
